DoT Physicals

YOUR UPCOMING DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION PHYSICAL

How Patient Choice Can Assist

There are certain types of jobs that will require a Department of Transportation (DOT) Physical. Most commonly, you’ll be required to have one if you’ve got a CDL license or you drive a commercial vehicle, such as a school bus. All commercial drivers are required to get a DOT physical every two years, so it’s very important to make sure you stay on top of yours at all time.

Ready to start your DOT Physical? Look no further than Patient Choice Medical Care in Hamden, CT.

What We’ll Look For

During the DOT physical, the primary thing we’ll be looking for is any pre-existing conditions you may have that could serve as a hinderance to you performing your job properly. We will ask you a series of questions, such as if you’ve ever had surgery or medical issues and what type of medicines you regularly take.

What we check during your DOT physical is pretty routine, including your weight, blood pressure, vision, hearing, eyes, ears, heart, lungs, back, reflexes, joints, and urinary system. Once successful, at the end of the physical you will receive a DOT card, which will allow you to have a CDL license. When all is said and done, the process is actually pretty simple!
